The Demonstration Specialist Project

Demonstration Specialists add to the skills they solidified in the Demonstration Project. The project remains dual-purposed: direct implementation benefits for the educator and their students while also multiplying the impact for educators who witness the process of learning. Demonstration Specialists expand their implementation to include all of the Catalyst Speciality Skills as well as benchmarks to lead implementation.

Prerequisite Skillset: Demonstration

Submission Benchmarks

At the beginning and the end of the project, you’ll create a video and written reflection of your skills.

Prerequisite Video Submission

  1. Record a video of yourself teaching a full lesson (a short one—20 minutes or less—works best). A full lesson includes getting students’ attention, engaging them in some learning experience, preparing them for an independent task, and supporting them while they work on their own.

  2. Upload the video so you can create a link to share. The most common options are Google Drive or YouTube.

  3. Respond to the following reflection questions. You can type your answers in a document so they are ready to paste into the form below.

    • What are you proud of?

    • What surprised you while watching yourself?

    • What specific goals do you have moving forward?

    • What are you hoping to learn from the Demonstration Specialist Project?

  4. Submit the video link and your reflections in the form below.
